25th March - Penarth beach
Decided to fish Penarth again for a little cover from the wind and the rain...didn't
get much cover, we got soaked.
Besides the conditions we carried on and managed a few fish as well
Fished from about 1.30pm til 6.30pm with high water at 3.30pm.
Barrelreef landed the 1st codling at high water, a small one of a few ounces.
Valleyboy followed it up with another small codling.
Wilba also landed a codling but a little bigger at 1/2 lb.
Barrelreef manged a double shot of codling with one pushing close to a 1lb.
About 2 hours after high Blackcat managed a small codling to save him from blanking. wilba landed another codling at 1 and
1/2 lb and Valleyboyo also landing one of about a 1lb. Barrelreef landed a codling of 1 and 1/2lb which manged to wreck his
trace.
Top baits seemed to be ragworm cocktails with mackerel or squid, although
one codling was caught on crab.
All fish were returned.
